Fall in North Cascades National Park
If you live in the PNW, you know what fall means: a quest for the golden trees.
Larches are inconspicuous in the summer, hiding as an evergreen like all the rest. But in the fall, they start by turning bright, neon green, then to something between fluorescent green and yellow that someone once told me they like to call the "limeade" stage, then on to blazing yellow, and finally to orange before dropping their needles. Nature constantly blows me away and the discovery of a deciduous conifer has been a highlight of many discoveries since our move.
In past years, we were lucky to have been able to explore The Enchantments, which are appropriately named, and which I'll create a post on later. This year, we spent a magical weekend in the North Cascades.
